'Upcoming: TERRA 2026'
'TERRA'
with works by Stanislav Zábrodský
Silica returns to the group exhibition TERRA, presenting the work of Stanislav Zábrodský (b. 1996) for the first time in France.
The Czech artist unveils two new compositions housed within a former storage space in the historical center of Beaune.
Aligned with the curatorial project led by Jennifer Ellis — focusing this year on the notion of an invisible cartography revealed through matter —, Zábrodský explores the folds of a bygone era through a speculative geology.
A subtle resonance emerges between his works and the venue's Burgundian architecture, despite the stark contrast in their respective textures.
Cast in concrete, their fractured surfaces accumulate traces of vanished landscapes, industrial imprints, and digital afterimages, materialising the very tension between natural and technological strata.
A staggering perspective thus emerges: our present is already being deposited within the material strata and formations of the future.
